  1. I know this one looks completely different to the other photo, but according to my research the Knysna is the only one that lives in these parts. I am trying to get identification confirmed, just in case! Posted 11 years ago
    1. When returning from Madagascar, I figured it would be easy to identify the ones I captured. They have such distinctive markings and colors, how hard can it be? I then too learned that it is actually very hard, and that a single species can have wildly different looks based on gender, mood, location. Posted 11 years ago
      1. So I have discovered! I had some experts take a look at this and although hugely different from my other photo, it appears they are one and the same species. Sorry I have had to change it but better to get it right! In future I shall ensure the identification is correct beforehand. Posted 11 years ago
        1. No need to apologize, it's just progressive insight and learning, a beautiful thing. Posted 11 years ago
  2. They all look different! The one the lowest photo looks very close to yours.

    1. Thanks Jivko, I have looked at that one already and probably every photo ever taken of every single dwarf chameleon!! looking at the stripe across the eye, the beard (I have on another photo) and the casque it can only be the Knysna or the Southern and the Southern has a range too far east of here.
