this species of Crocus was first defined as Crocus damascenus Herbert, but later decided it is closer to Crocus cancellatus. a scientific paper is being written these days, and this Crocus will probably get its place as a new species. until then, it is Crocus aff. cancellatus.
the unique feature of this Crocus is its long and twisting anthers.
