  1. Oh how wonderful, despite my years in the UK and the well known line ' A Nightingale sang in Berkley Square', I have never ever actually seen one. So thank you, it is even singing! Posted 11 years ago
    1. Thank you, Claire, I am glad you like this photo. It is quite difficult to spot this little bird. I stay calm couple of hours in the shrubs, listen how they sing and cannot see them among the leaves. This is the first time I captured one of them. Posted 11 years ago

The common nightingale or simply nightingale, also known as rufous nightingale, is a small passerine bird best known for its powerful and beautiful song. It was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family Turdidae, but is now more generally considered to be an Old World flycatcher, Muscicapidae.
