I usually don't give up on a bird until I have a good portrait shot. I don't think they get much better than this in the wild. Now to just catch it in action.

    1. Probably, it's a really swampy area and from the tree you can see plenty of those around. Makes sense considering the bird and the spider have the same diet. Posted 11 years ago

The Great Crested Flycatcher is a large insect-eating bird of the tyrant flycatcher family. It is the most widespread member of the genus, "Myiarchus", in North America and is found over most of the eastern and mid-western portions of the continent. It dwells mostly in the treetops and rarely is found on the ground.
