Diamondback Epinotia (Leaf Shelter with Caterpillar) - Epinotia lindana On 5/30/25, I saw a bunch of shriveled, brown leaves on dogwood. Inside each was a larva. I took one home to rear and it pupated sometime in June. Then, nothing. I was about to toss it last week, but decided to peak inside the leaf first (the cat had sealed it shut for pupation). I was shocked to find a wriggling, healthy pupa. On 8/28/25, the adult emerged.<br />
