Eurybrachys tomentosa
The eurybrachys tomentosa is a colourful planthopper belonging to the family Eurybrachidae, and particularly found in south and central India. I have always called it the Christmas bug owing to its green and red colouration.
Eurybrachidae are sap-suckers. The female will lay several clutches of eggs in clusters, covered by a white capsule that protects them from predators. They are regarded as pests.
