Nepita conferta Twinning with tigers

Nepita conferta is a small tiger moth (family Erebidae, subfamily Arctiinae) found in India, Sri Lanka, and nearby regions. It has dark forewings marked with white spots and lighter hindwings, often yellowish with dark borders. Nocturnal and attracted to light, its caterpillars typically feed on lichens or algae. These lichens contain chemical compounds that the larvae can absorb. The compounds make the moths unpalatable to predators, giving them a natural chemical defense.
