I didn’t know what I was going to get when I took this picture with my 600 mm lens at its maximum focal distance. I was sitting in a rocking tour boat going up the Missouri River in a windy canyon called the ‘Gates of the Mountains’ which was carved by the Missouri River and featured towering limestone cliffs that rose up to 1200 feet on each side. This plant is actually very rare and is known to only grow in several locations.
