  1. Pantala flavescens doesn't seem to be the right ID. According to the reference, this species is found in central and south America, but not in the north. It doesn't have so much brown and pterostigmata are red.

      if you look at the map you'll see the species is found in South America, Central America, Indonesia, Africa, and the Southern US. Quote from the ID "It is considered to be the most widespread dragonfly on the planet."

          1. I'll concede a female blue dasher it is. Though the wing marking aren't there.

The blue dasher is an insect of the skimmer family. It is the only species in the genus "Pachydiplax". It is very common and widely distributed through North America and into the Bahamas.
