Cat Ba Langurs - heartening, 4 mothers, each with infants The good news is that these critically endangered langurs are now much better protected than they were by the Vietnam Government and that there may be 80 individuals here, representing an increase of over 14% in the world population. This view that we had, certainly was heartening. During the 2 trips to try to see these shy and elusive Langurs we were fortunate enough to see a total of 16 individuals, which represented 20% of the world population, this demonstrates their vulnerability. 1. 80 individuals is so sad, but a very encouraging photo to see them with babies. Posted 3 months ago
  2. A fifth couple joined them briefly before they moved off (another mother & infant), so yes that was great, especially as last year Cat Ba was struck by super typhoon Yagi, which ripped through forests there. Posted 3 months ago
    1. Incredible, glad they survived and appear to be thriving! Posted 3 months ago
