    1. Thanks! I've been surprised by seeing so many new species this spring, at least during the daytime. Mothing has been very poor at night -- maybe too cool and rainy lately. I tried again last night and got 2 moths and 1 fly! Posted 3 months ago

"Plateumaris rufa" is a species of aquatic leaf beetle in the family Chrysomelidae. It is found in the eastern United States and Canada, from West Virginia north to Quebec. It was first described in 1826 by Thomas Say based on a specimen found on the bank of the Schuylkill River in Pennsylvania.
