Tall trees grove The officially recognized tallest tree in the world, Hyperion, isn't in this grove - it is nearby BUT it's off limits at this time because of damage caused by tourists.... and there's a $5,000 fine for going into the area where it grows. There are certainly tall trees here though - Nugget (yes, they have names) is the 3rd tallest tree in the world and was for a time the official record holder until knocked from it's pedestal by Hyperion and Helios.

Hyperion is 380.81 feet tall, Helios is 377.13 feet tall, Nugget (or NGT, National Geographic Tree) is 373.49 feet tall

Nugget is in the center of the grove, so probably isn't visible in this photo. The tip of Howard Libby, 362.8 feet tall, probably is, though behind the unnamed tree that is dead center.

The vastness of these trees is actually hard to appreciate when you are not looking at them in person... but those riverbank trees in the foreground that look like bushes are full sized trees.
