Ground beetle - Secatophus australis Found this one under a dead tree stump. It looks to me as if the beetle was guarding its eggs. I have never seen such behavior in beetles, but in 15 minutes of observing and taking photos the beetle seemed agitated but never moved far from the eggs and alwise returned to them.<br />
