Hatch Chilies or Capsicum annuum
The dried Hatch chiles strung together are commonly called ristras.
A ristra is a traditional method of drying chile peppers by threading them on a string and hanging them, often seen in the southwest. While they're decorative, they're also functional—you can take chiles from the ristra for cooking once they've dried.
They’re especially iconic in places like Tucson, Arizona.

''Capsicum annuum'' is a domesticated species of the plant genus ''Capsicum'' native to southern North America and northern South America. This species is the most common and extensively cultivated of the five domesticated capsicums.
