
DeVille's Robber Frog (Pristimantis devillei)
Knowing that this frog has red eyes, when I heard the specific name was "devillei", I thought/hoped that it was named for its devilish appearance. But it turns out it was just named after some guy named DeVille. Oh well.

Pristimantis devillei, aka Deville's Robber Frog, is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Ecuador. Its natural habitats are tropical moist montane forests, high-altitude shrubland, and tundra. It is threatened by habitat loss.
