African Wild Dog or Lycaon pictus
Only the alpha male and female breed, but the entire pack helps to feed and protect the young pups. African wild dogs will even bring food to injured and elderly pack members, ensuring that everyone in the family is cared for and fed. As pack animals, they are successful in more than 70% of their hunts.

"Lycaon pictus" is a large canid found only in Africa, especially in savannas and lightly wooded areas. It is variously called the African wild dog, African hunting dog, Cape hunting dog, painted dog, painted wolf, painted hunting dog, spotted dog, or ornate wolf.
