Pouncing Cougar shadow on Superstition Mountain during the equinox
Superstition Mountain is a landmark on the east side of the Phoenix, Arizona valley. It is well known for an event that occurs twice a year during the equinox when the sun sets and the mountain creates a shadow in the image of a pouncing cougar. With a bit of imagination and eye squinting you can see the cougar. The image of the mountain shadow was taken about 1.5 miles west of the actual mountain looking east. I also like that you can zoom in on the image and see the saguaro cactus in the shadows.
