Show off

This male common pheasant is a regular visitor to my bird feeder at home in Ljubljana. Every morning he is around and feeding with what falls to the ground. He is not shy at all - when I come to fill the feeder, he simply walks away to the corner of the garden and when I leave, he is back within minutes. So I placed my hide tent close by to photograph it. This shot was made this morning, my second day in the hide. The biggest challenge was the background - there is a wired fence behind him and when he was too close, the wires made an ugly background. And when he was too close, I inevitably cut off his wings or tail. And most of the time, he was turned away from me. So this is the only shot where I managed to get him in the right spot, right angle and I didn't cut his wings. And the steam out of his beak is just a cherry on the cake :)
