
12 spotted jewel beetle (Diphucrania duodecimaculatta)
A small deep purplish brown jewel beetle about 6 mm long with 12 white spots on the elytra and a slightly broad pale lateral stripe on the pronotum which reflected deep blue and purple. Abdominal segments showed white bands.Eyes were black.
Spotted feeding on a young allocasuarina plant in a nature reserve- Langwarrin fauna & Flora NR.
