  1. One of the coolest orchids I've found in the wild in a while! There was a whole clump of them growing on a recently burned hillside, looking like fake plastic ornaments in the middle of the barren landscape - so bizarre! Posted 7 months ago

"Zygopetalum maculatum" is a species of orchid native to Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. The plants are mainly situated in flat, very wet, moss-covered, semi-boggy areas at elevations of 1,100 to 2,500 m.
