Barred Forest Falcon ... (to be continued). I took this as an incentive to underline how lucky the first shot of this species here in the jungle was. Most commonly and easily these Falcons are seen during a night walk, I was told. And, indeed, that one sat quietly and close by the trail. Luckily, I had - as always - my zoom-lens with me. Just the cautious torch light of the guide in a pitch dark forest was not too helpful for any reasonable ISO. Some excellent noise-reducing software allowed me to present this poor shut. The barred forest falcon is a species of bird of prey in the family Falconidae which includes the falcons, caracaras, and their relatives. It occurs throughout most of tropical and subtropical Latin America, except the arid Pacific coast in South America, northern and western Mexico, and the Antilles.
