The Andean flicker is a South American species of woodpecker. It is found in grassland, shrubland and ''Polylepis'' woodland at altitudes of 2,000–5,000 metres in the Andes from southern Ecuador to northern Chile and northwestern Argentina. Together with the Campo flicker and ground woodpecker, it is the only largely terrestrial woodpecker.
