Argentine Saguaro or Echinopsis terscheckii
Technically is not a saguaro, but a cardon. Argentine saguaro got its nickname from its similar appearance to the familiar saguaro native to the Sonoran Desert.
The Argentine saguaro has darker and much longer spines with branches usually being lower to the ground. It takes about 50 years for the common saguaro to grow but the Argentine saguaro grows much more quickly (12-18 inches a year) and tolerates cooler temperatures down to 5°F for short periods.
