Greater white-fronted goose - Anser albifrons
Large flocks of these birds usually winter in northeastern Bulgaria near the Black Sea, but for some reason this young bird appeared in a small dam about 15 km from Sofia, about 450 km from their usual wintering area. I'm glad I was able to photograph it, because so far I had only photographed it in Poland.

The greater white-fronted goose is a species of goose. The greater white-fronted goose is closely related to the smaller lesser white-fronted goose. In Europe it has been known as simply "white-fronted goose"; in North America it is known as the greater white-fronted goose, and this name is also increasingly adopted internationally.
