Gray-throated Leaftosser, Santa Marta, Colombia
Our first ever leaftosser. As the name suggests, they toss leaves on the forest floor. This triggers an escape response from insects, revealing their location. After hearing it, it took almost an hour to get it into view.
This is likely Sclerurus albigularis propinquus, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta subspecies.

The grey-throated leaftosser is a Near Threatened species of bird in the subfamily Sclerurinae, the leaftossers and miners, of the ovenbird family Furnariidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.
