Garden Visitor We knew there were wild Koalas in this location and was on the lookout for them during our hikes and night walks without success.
On the last morning, early in the morning when I came out of my tent, I saw 'something' foraging on the ground thinking it was a Possum as they were very common at the camping ground. However, it is in the morning and I wasn't sure if it was a Possum or something else, decided to get my zoom lens to take a better look, and woa, pleasantly surprised!
This cutie was foraging on the ground and when I approached closer, it went up a tree but still didn't go all the way high up, we had some good close encounters with it and it was jumping from tree trunks to tree trunks! :D Australia,Koala,Koala Bear,Nelson Bay,New South Wales,Phascolarctos cinereus Click/tap to enlarge Promoted

The koala is an arboreal herbivorous marsupial native to Australia. It is the only extant representative of the family Phascolarctidae, and its closest living relatives are the wombats. The koala is found in coastal areas of the mainland's eastern and southern regions, inhabiting Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia.
