Sand Sage or Artemisia filifolia
Juxtaposed in front of the yellow Creosote bush the Sand Sage took on a blueish hue. This fragrant shrub is recognizable for its wispy, silvery gray, thread-like leaves. This plant is an indicator of sandy soil and provides food and shelter for small birds and mammals. Some animals burrow under the roots of the plant for shelter.
