Rouget's Rail Seen in the ericaceous belt and scrubby dwarf forest areas to the North of the Sanetti Plateau, known as the Goba Escarpment and above the Park gate heading up to the Sanetti Plateau.  This bird, endemic to Ethiopia/Eritrea is classed as near threatened.  It is relatively easy to spot and was also seen on the Gaysay Grasslands further North and west. Rouget's rail is a species of bird in the family Rallidae. It is the only member of the genus "Rougetius". It is found in Eritrea and Ethiopia.
