Great Blue Heron

It's the largest heron in North America, with a long neck, thick bill, and shaggy appearance. Great blue herons are excellent fishers, using their long, dagger-like bills to strike fish that come within range. They can hunt day and night thanks to their excellent night vision and binocular vision.

The great blue heron is a large wading bird in the heron family Ardeidae, common near the shores of open water and in wetlands over most of North America and Central America, as well as the Caribbean and the Galápagos Islands.
