Chestnut-naped Spurfowl - Northern ssp
The Northern ssp of this fine spurfowl, previously called francolin. The other ssp is P c atrifrons, the Black-fronted Chestnut-naped Spurfowl. We saw quite a few just of these birds just as we descended from the Sanetti Plateau down towards the Harenna Forest and again when emerging onto the Sanetti Plateau on the 2 days when we were travelling in this area. There were males, females and adults with chicks.
