A butterfly that can be found in central and parts of southern Europe, Turkey, and towards the east up to Mongolia and the Altai Mountains. They are very attached to the respective locations they have found, making them locally abundant but overall rather scarce.

The Geranium Argus is a butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. It is found in the Palearctic ecozone. The wingspan is 26–30 mm. The butterfly flies from May to August depending on the location. The larvae feed on Geranium species.
