Clouded Apollo (Parnassius mnemosyne)

The German name translates to “Black Apollo".
It can be found in central Europe, and further to Lebanon, Turkey and via Caucasus to Central Asia.
Due due its very particular habitat needs, this species occurs mostly in insular patches and can be considered a lucky find to encounter.
