Yellow-fronted Parrot

Although we'd heard a Yellow-fronted Parrot calling the day before, this was the only one that we saw. It was just after sunrise and it flew across the lakeside, calling and settled in this dead tree. A good choice for us to see it but it was back-lit by very strong sunlight at this early hour. It stayed calling for 5 minutes but the additional bonus for us was that we were able to see the orange colour of its lower bill with sun behind. There is still a small area of mature woodland close-by which includes large fig trees and Podocarpus.
