Struggle for life The parakeet trying its best to save its nest from the monitor lizard.<br /> <br /> During safari in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve couple of weeks back, we experienced a few parakeets trying desperately to get the lizard out.<br /> <br /> Obviously, they did lose the offspring. <br /> <br /> Nature at its play. I could never see the lizard out. We waited for long, but could only see its tail. During safari in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve couple of weeks back, we experienced a few parakeets trying desperately to get the lizard out.

Obviously, they did lose the offspring.

Nature at its play. I could never see the lizard out. We waited for long, but could only see its tail.

The Rose-ringed parakeet

The rose-ringed parakeet is a medium-sized parrot in the genus Psittacula, of the family Psittacidae. It has disjunct native ranges in Africa and the Indian Subcontinent, and is now introduced into many other parts of the world where feral populations have established themselves and are bred for the exotic pet trade.
