      1. Great, it is a new species introduction for the site and one of only two species of moss. When you know the species, and you seem to know them well, you can identify them from the "identify species" option next to the photo. That retrieves the information available on Wikipedia for the species and also groups all the photos of the same species. In this case, I have identified it for you. Posted 11 years ago
  2. Binhunter, welcome to JungleDragon! As a first tip, it would be helpful to share a little more in your photo. Try to give it a meaningful title with a description of what is on the photo. For example, try to describe the species and/or location, that way other members will enjoy your photos much more. Posted 11 years ago
  3. The short stature of these moss plants and the +/- spindle shape of the calyptra make me think this is not Polytrichum commune. Posted 6 years ago

''Polytrichum commune'' is a species of moss found in many regions with high humidity and rainfall. The species can be exceptionally tall for a moss with stems often exceeding 30 cm though rarely reaching 70 cm, but it is most commonly found at shorter lengths of 5 to 10 cm.
