A pretty young Alpine ibex (Capra ibex) From a hike in the Valle Gesso area of Piemont, Italy.<br />
During this rather spectacular hike we had already spotted a herd of chamois and some marmots. On our way down, following a disused former gravel path (that had been partially washed away during a heavy storm + deluge in 2023), we saw a young ibex along with its mother. The Alpine ibex is a species of wild goat that lives in the mountains of the European Alps. In its habitat region, the species is known as "bouquetin", "Steinbock", "stambecco" and "kozorog".
