  1. Ferdy, is that really a Red-fronted Coot? It looks more like Common moorhen. The bigger part of the Coot's beak is yellow and only the upper part (forehead) is red. Also the white feathers on both sides are typical for the moorhen. Maybe I am wrong, you made the photo in the Zoo... For me it looks like Common Moorhen. Posted 11 years ago
    1. Actually, I think you are right. I based this identification on a similar spotting by somebody else in the same zoo, but upon closer inspection it is indeed a Common Moorhen. Thanks! Posted 11 years ago
