Baton Blue (Pseudophilotes baton)
Piemont, Italy
EDIT: originally identified wrongly as Checkered Blue (Scolitantides orion). While the Checkered Blue is very similar in appearance, the white rings around the black spots mark it as a Pseudophilotes; and since the very similar looking Eastern Baton Blue (Pseudophilotes vicrama) is found much further to the East, this is the (Western) Baton Blue.

''Pseudophilotes baton'', the baton blue, is a butterfly of the family Lycaenidae. It is found in central and southern Europe and then east across the Palearctic to the Russian Far East.
The wingspan is 10–11 mm. The butterfly flies from April to September.
