The wanderer rests It seems at times that a dragonfly&#039;s strength and tenacity are boundless - I watch them as they spend so much of their time on the wing hunting and perhaps looking for a mate.<br />

But occasionally they come to rest for a while such as here. The common name for this species is perfect, the wandering percher. It wanders, it perches! <br />

Diplacodes bipunctata can be found here in Australia, all over I believe. They like to be near freshwater habitats such as here, by a pond. <br />

"Diplacodes bipunctata", the Wandering Percher, is a species of dragonfly in the Libellulidae family. It is found in Australia and the South West Pacific. The male is bright red and the female is yellowish.
