The Peruvian Fern Insect

The Peruvian Fern Insect (Oreophoetes peruana) is a striking phasmid in the family Diapheromeridae. Despite its name, it is not endemic to Peru, being found all the way into Colombia.
The slender male is bright red, while the much larger femalee is black and yellow.
