Tityus discrepans (Buthidae)
Tityus discrepans, one of the most common scorpion species in the mountainous areas around southeastern Caracas. Its sting can be of concern, especially in children, due to the high toxicity of its venom. It is occasionally observed in urban areas, coming from nearby forests, where it sometimes enters dwellings, as happened in this case. Photo of live animal standing still.
