  1. Your average tapaculo photo: find a tiny window through the zillion bamboo stems and try to squeeze as much of the bird into the frame as possible! At least I'm glad the head is in focus, since shooting from inside Chusquea thickets is only marginally brighter than shooting at night, and autofocus immediately gave up on me.

The chusquea tapaculo is a species of bird in the family Rhinocryptidae. It is found in southern Ecuador and far northern Peru.
