  2. Almost like another universe. Beautiful. Posted one year ago
  3. This has superb resolution, showing the hairs and pollen. Is this a stacked image? Posted one year ago
    1. Yes, it is stacked. Nearly all the photos I post are stacked. I used a Laowa 2.5x-5x lens at 2.5x and (using an automated device) moved the whole camera a small amount for each of the 100 or so shots taken. The shots were combined on my computer using Helicon software, post processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. In post processing I usually boost contrast and clarity a little, but try to remain faithful to what is actually there.

I like that I can upload photos at full resolution on JungleDragon- there is usually additional detail to be seen if viewed with "load original"

      1. I thought it had to be stacked because of your camera settings which would make this image almost impossible without stacking. I also use the Laowa 2-5x-5x lens for anything greater than 2x and the Laowa 100mm Dreamer lens below the 2x magnification. I use Stack Shot for my focus rail, Zeren for my stacking software and finish up using GIMP (an open-source editing program) for post work on dust removal, and color correction. Posted one year ago
        1. I’ve only recently started doing extreme macro photography and find it both challenging and rewarding.

I can see how the Laowa 100 would nicely fill the gap between my 1:1 lens and the 2.5-5x lens.
