Pholiota_2024-05-06 SW Michigan USA
We found a large fruiting of these on the face of a sawed tree trunk. The larger ones were 4 to 5 cm wide, the ones photographed here were 0.5 to 1.5 cm wide.
I'm pretty sure of the genus (Pholiota) but hesitant to take a stab at the species ID
