Euphorbia_cyparissias_2024-05-04 SW Michigan USA I kept getting obnoxious specular highlights on the top of some flowers. At first I thought they were caused by water droplets but even after letting it sit for hours I was still getting them. It finally struck me that they might be patches of oily secretion (when I handled the cuttings my hands got sticky) and I was able to tame them for the most part by lighting with a single source just above the camera lens. 1. Nice tip on how to avoid it. It's quite an obscure technique some use polarized flash light to avoid reflections like that. Never tried it myself. Posted one year ago
    1. I think the only reason it helped was that the reflective surface was thin, more like a glass mirror than a reflective sphere. Posted one year ago
  2. Nice shot! Posted one year ago
