Pedicularis_canadensis_2024-04-30 SW Michigan USA Found along a trail a little above a creek. Only a few plants had flowers with this reddish coloration- the others were yellow.<br />

  1. I was wondering, are these field stacks or do you bring them home? Posted one year ago
    1. Brought home stacks- the majority of my photos are shot at home. We get out on the trails 3 or 4 times a week, and JoAnn and the dogs are gracious enough to wait while I snip something off to take home, but doing field stacks would exhaust their patience rather quickly :)

      Sometimes I go back with a backpack full of gear to do field stacks, but to be honest, I more enjoy the immediate feedback I get from the computer at home.

"Pedicularis canadensis" is a flowering plant in the family Orobanchaceae. It is native to North America, where it is found in southeastern Canada, the eastern United States, and eastern Mexico. It has a wide-ranging natural habitat, being found in mesic to dry, forests, woodlands, and prairies.
