photographed at deep creek conservation park south australia...the female superb is very different from the male both the females and juveniles are predominantly grey-brown in colour and often seen in groups of 3 or 4 hanging out with a stunning blue adorned male...they one of 12 species of the genus Malurus, commonly known as fairywrens, found in Australia and are both socially monogamous and sexually promiscuous,Male wrens pluck yellow petals and display them to females as part of a courtship display! At deep creek they are so used to humans that they offer many close up photo ops and hours of entertainment
