Grape hyacinth. We found these beside a trail we often hike in the Yankee Springs Recreation Area, an area of state owned hilly, sandy, rocky land that was previously farmed by folks that struggled mightily to make a go of it, largely giving up in the early 20th century.

Muscari botryoides is a bulbous perennial plant plant of the genus Muscari and one of a number of species and genera known as Grape Hyacinth. It is sometimes grown as an ornamental plant.
