Daphnis moorei, Minggre, Arfak Mountains, Papua
On this 2nd night of mothing in the Arfak mountains, I thought I captured the same species as on the 1st night:
But at a closer glance, they are different species. The 1st one I re-identified as Daphnis protrudens, instead of Daphnis moorei.
"Daphnis moorei" is a moth of the Sphingidae family. It is known from Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the northern half of Australia. The forewing upperside is similar to "Daphnis hypothous".
