  1. On a serious note, why this orgy of smooth-throated species in the same region? Posted one year ago
    1. I've no idea, but all of Chile is like that! There are more than 20 species just in that area of central Chile, and about 100 in the whole country! Thanks to inat, I realized that on the first day of the trip and from then I tried to see as many as possible! I found 7 or 8, which was most of the achievable ones given my itinerary, though I didn't get good photos of all of them.
I still have one coming, and a second one from Peru, on which I am awaiting species level ID.
And honestly I'm already thinking of another trip to any other part of Chile to see some more Liolaemus :)

      1. 100 of such a specific subgroup in a single country is crazy diverse. So cool to discover entirely new "collectable" niches in nature. Posted one year ago
        1. I was amazed as well! So glad I found out when I did and not after coming back! Got some very cool new Pokemon as a result haha Posted one year ago
